Janeen Olsen Dougherty’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, employment counseling and employment litigation. She regularly represents and counsels businesses and professionals on a wide range of issues including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, breach of contract, wage and hour violations, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and related state law causes of action. Ms. Dougherty also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements. She regularly conducts investigations, and develops and reviews personnel policies, employee handbooks and internal procedures to protect large and small businesses in the face of ever-changing federal, state and local laws.
Ms. Dougherty is a frequent lecturer and author on a variety of employment law topics. She conducts training and lectures regularly on the protection of trade secrets and enforceability of post-employment restrictive covenants.
Prior to co-founding Grey Street Legal, Ms. Dougherty served as Associate General Counsel for Airgas, Inc., where she was responsible for providing employment counseling, developing policy and managing employment litigation. Ms. Dougherty was previously a shareholder in the firm of McCausland, Keen & Buckman, P.C. and served as a commercial litigator and head of its employment law practice for nine years. She began her career with Clark, Ladner, Fortenbaugh & Young in Philadelphia, PA.
Ms. Dougherty is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Chester County Bar Association.
